What is the B.E. in Marine Engineering Course?

The B.E. in Marine Engineering is a four-year fully residential undergraduate program offered by Heroical Marine Services Pvt. Ltd. and prepares students to become Marine Engineers in the Merchant Navy. The B.E. in Marine Engineering program comprises a combination of theory, workshops, and practical training which is intended for cadets to acquire fundamental knowledge of ship machinery and engineering systems. Cadets will learn about the mechanics of propulsion, electric power generation systems, fuel systems, water Distillation systems, air conditioning systems, lighting systems, lubrication systems, shipboard mechanical operations, shipbuilding technologies, ship mechanisms, onboard machinery systems, marine electrical/electronics, safety procedures, and navigation concepts. The program prepares the cadets with technical ability, professional self-confidence, and readiness for life onboard a ship. After graduation, students are required to serve six months of sea service which qualifies them to pursue MEO Class IV and work as Marine Engineers on both local and international vessels.

Eyesight Standards

Eyesight must be 6/6 with or without external aids, maximum power ±2.5, and no color blindness allowed.
