[Verification required before publication] The 2019 academic corrigendum does not establish the current 2026 age cut-off. Confirm the latest DGS consolidated entry rule, batch start date and any gender/category relaxation before displaying an age figure.
Candidates must be medically fit for sea service under current Merchant Shipping rules through a DGS-approved examiner. Food-handling, hygiene, hearing, eyesight and colour-vision fitness may be assessed under the applicable rules and company standards.
IMU-CET is not a universal CCMC entry requirement. Institutes or sponsors may assess English, hygiene awareness, service attitude, basic aptitude, interview performance and medical fitness.
Status: Preferred / company-dependent. A genuine scheme may support selection or a first-ship pathway subject to course performance, conduct, documentation, medical fitness and vacancies. It must not be marketed as a guaranteed job or salary.
Sponsorship should be obtained only through a verifiable shipping company or its officially authorised selection channel. Candidates must verify the company, institute, approval status and sponsorship terms before making any payment.

|---|---|
| Advantages | Practical maritime route for hospitality-oriented candidates; combines catering skills with shipboard safety and discipline. |
| Challenges | Long working routines, hygiene accountability, compact workspaces, time away from home, varied vessel structures and no guaranteed first ship. |
| Not Guaranteed | A cook rank, sponsor, ship, cruise-line role, permanent job, salary, tips or promotion. |
Note: Verify on the DGS RPS Agencies list. RPSL authorisation concerns recruitment and placement; it is not approval to conduct a maritime training course.
Application fields include: full name; date of birth; city/state; mobile/email; qualification and marks; intended batch; passport status; medical status; secure document upload; privacy consent; parent/guardian consent if the applicant is below 18.
